Advance is a global movement of churches partnering together to advance the Gospel through planting and strengthening churches. The name Advance is a practical way of describing our partnership, and expresses our primary purpose of taking new ground for the Gospel in cities and nations. Click here for more information.

At Cornerstone, we recognise that there is so much that is needed outside of the church but we cannot do it alone. We love partnering with organisations that are already having a massive impact on local communities like Safe Families. Here is a little more about who they are what they do:

When a crisis strikes a family with children, its effects can be devastating. Many of us would turn to relatives and friends for support but some families can be really isolated with nobody there to help them.

Stabilising families before they reach a breaking point is key to reducing the number of children who need to go into care. Safe Families has been privileged to help over 4600 children since it was launched in the UK in 2013.

Volunteering can change a life

Safe Families provides Family Friends, Host Families and Resource Friends to help while parents get back on their feet.  Please visit the Safe Families website to discover the many ways that you could personally make a difference to a family in crisis.

We have a few volunteers from Cornerstone Church Newcastle who serves the local community through Safe Families.

You can also get involved by contacting Vikki Pestell who leads and coordinates the members involved with Safe Families at Cornerstone Church.

Releasing kids from poverty in Jesus name

We wanted to partner not only with local ministries but also with Global ministries. We love what Compassion do and how it is worked out through the local church in regions of need and poverty.

As a church, we have decided to partner with a community in Indonesia. Here is a little more information on who Compassion are:

Sponsor a child in poverty

Poverty is a thief. It robs children of the right to grow up strong and healthy. It steals their time to play and denies them the chance to sit in a classroom and learn. But you can change this. Sponsor a child with Compassion and bring them hope. Bring good news to a child who has been waiting many months for a sponsor.

Compassion child sponsorship works

Independent research shows that Compassion-sponsored children are more likely to be employed as adults, and leaders in their communities and churches. Be inspired by how child sponsorship changes lives by watching videos on their website:
