SUnday is for Worship

Every church has certain things that it repeats every week that help form and teach Christians. Whether they are recognised or not, these church habits are always forming us.

At Cornerstone Church, we want our worship to be Gospel-centred and Spirit-led.

We are: Prepared

All our services begin with a call to worship. This means that the host will share something from the Bible before leading the congregation in prayer into worship.

Then, we sing a mix of contemporary songs and hymns. As a church, we welcome prophetic contributions, please speak to an elder if you feel like the Holy Spirit has spoken to you.

We are: in community

We conclude our singing with prayer.

We love to share the news that is happening in our community so we have announcements, where we share family news and upcoming event.

We love to regularly hear how God is moving among individuals through testimony, in our serving ministries through ministry spotlights, and amongst the rest of the UK and the world through prayer for gospel partners.

We are: Fed by the word

The church is a gathering around the Word of God, so we listen to the reading of scripture.

We are built up through the sermon, unpacking the scripture and declaring the Gospel over us.

We are: Responsive to the gospel

We respond to the Gospel as the church throughout the ages has, by coming together around the bread and the cup of Communion, where we remember the sacrifice of Christ for our sin.

Built up in the Gospel, we sing the praise of God again with a mix of contemporary songs and hymns (if you feel like the Lord has something for you to bring before the whole church, please speak to an elder).

We are sent out into the world with a benediction, which blesses us as we go out and live on mission for God.
